In November 2019, the Diotima Center represented by Dimitra Antonopoulou, Gender Violence Incident Management Supervisor, participated in the conference entitled “Power up for more Gender Equality & Gender Mainstreaming” organized by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE)<\/a>, under the auspices of the Finnish Presidency of the Council of the EU.<\/p>\n

The conference took place at the Europa Building in Brussels on 19\/11\/2019, with the participation of representatives from the European Commission, the European Parliament, civil society, social partners, and academia.<\/p>\n

The findings of a new EIGE research on gender mainstreaming in European policies over the past decade were presented.<\/p>\n

Ways to implement the EU’s legal and political commitments on gender equality and the possibility of securing a renewed commitment for 2020 were discussed, in view of the assumption of duties by the new European Parliament and the finalization of the seven-year EU budget.<\/p>\n
