Promotion of women in the collective bodies of GSEVEE
The Plan aims to strengthen the position of women in the decision-making centres and representative institutions of the Confederation.

The Diotima Centre has undertaken the preparation of an “Integrated Action Plan for the promotion of women in the collective bodies of GSEVEE and the operation of a service for equality issues”. The Plan is being implemented under the Act: “Action Plan for the Promotion of Women in the Decision-Making Centres of the Collective Bodies of GSEVEE”, OP Administrative Reform, NSRF 2007-2013, with IME GSEVEE as coordinator.

The Plan concerns the implementation of a series of interrelated actions aimed at strengthening the position of women in decision-making centres and representative institutions of the General Confederation of Professionals, Craftsmen, and Merchants of Greece (GSEVEE).

In the framework of the project, in the first phase, the existing situation of women’s trade union representation at all levels of representation of the GSEVEE (primary Unions, Sectoral and Local Federations, General Assembly / Board of Directors / Presidency of the GSEVEE) was mapped.

Subsequently, an Action Plan for the creation of an Equality Office was prepared by the Centre in order to undertake a series of actions that will ultimately aim to increase the participation of women in decision-making centres (trade union bodies of all levels – Unions, Federations – institutions of representation) and to strengthen their participation in positions of responsibility in order to express the needs of women entrepreneurs and promote their particular demands in decision-making centres, within and outside the GSEVEE.
