SYNPRAXIS: Cooperation for employment
The project aims to increase the effectiveness of the mechanisms in charge of the professional integration of excluded groups.

The Development Partnership with the project “SYNPRAXIS: Cooperation for Employment” aims to develop innovative methods and practices, through the implementation of pilot actions, involving all actors of the so-called “employment triangle”, i.e. employment services, employers and the unemployed people themselves. The project was implemented under the ‘A.S. SYNPRAXIS – Community Initiative Equal, Cycle B’, with Nostos as coordinator, in 2005.

Within the framework of the project, the experience gained in individualised actions against unemployment, both with specialised target groups and the general population, was used to develop tools, methods and practices that contribute:

  • to improve labour demand
  • to improve the quality of the jobs on offer
  • to increase the effectiveness of the mechanisms responsible for the occupational integration of the less competitive groups of the population

In addition to its overall participation in the project, the Diotima Centre has also implemented the following:

  1. Conducted a study on employers’ motivations and attitudes regarding employment policies, entitled “Presentation and evaluation of employment and social inclusion policies”
  2. Developed the following tools, concerning the gender dimension in personalised counselling and the design of methods for improving and highlighting hidden talents:
  • “The gender dimension in personalised counselling”
  • “A guide to gender-sensitive professional counselling”
  • “The Phenomenon of Transnational Human Trafficking in Greece and Internationally”
  • “Guide to counselling for women – victims of transnational trafficking”
