For the third consecutive year, Diotima Centre and Piraeus Bank are renewing and expanding their partnership through the “EQUALL – Addressing Gender-Based Violence” program.
The program’s goal is to provide psychological and social support to women who have suffered or are experiencing gender-based violence. The program is also implemented in school and academic communities, in order to educate and raise awareness among the younger generation, with the goal of fostering a mindset of gender equality and respect.
The program consists of three main components:
- Prevention of gender-based violence through educational sessions for school students, university students, and teaching staff in schools and universities in Attica, as well as in remote areas of Greece. The goal is to support approximately 1,000 students, 150 university students, and 50 members of the teaching staff.
- Provision of Psychosocial Support with access to free psychological support for survivors of gender-based violence – particularly in remote or non-urban areas – with the goal of supporting 45 women across the country.
- Professional Counseling and Empowerment for women seeking to regain their dignity and autonomy by breaking free from the cycle of violence, with the goal of supporting 50 women
To this day, over 1,350 women, school students, college students, and educators have benefited from the program over the past two years.
“EQUALL – Addressing Gender-Based Violence” is carried out as part of Piraeus Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility program “EQUALL – For a Society of Equal People.”
