#MetooGR: from the personal to the political again
Several months after the start of the Greek metoo, we are discussing the form this global movement took in our country.

On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence, the Diotima Center is organizing an online event on “#MetooGR: from the personal to the political again”, on Monday 29/11, 6:30 pm, in a live broadcast from the official page of the organization on facebook and youtube.

Several months after the start of the Greek metoo, counting hundreds of named exposures of abuse in the field of sports, theater, journalism, etc., as well as, complaints that have found their way to justice, we are discussing the form this global movement took in our country.

In the event, we attempt to reflect on the wave of exposures regarding the individuality and privacy of the victims’ experience in relation to the socio-political contexts, the embedded culture of gender-based violence and sexism, as well as, the institutions, discourses, and mechanisms of reproduction of patriarchy.
